Protein Sources is a privately held limited liability partnership based in Mapleton, Minnesota (15 miles south of Mankato at the cross roads of Minnesota Highways 22 and 30). Bron Scherer CPA, a former resident of Amboy, MN, and John, Paul, Richard, and William FitzSimmons, four brothers from Good Thunder, MN, founded the company in 1999.
Protein Sources was founded to formalize the management activities of various FitzSimmons owned and affiliated farrow to finish hog production entities. In addition to these owned herds, the company’s first “outside” management client was founded. Flagship Pork Partners, LLP is a 3,150-sow facility and nursery system located near Good Thunder, MN.
